Adventure 101: If you’re an individual looking for all of the fun of summer camp and a piece of every adventure activity, then this is the week for you. Our non-competitive atmosphere is the setting for a full week of fun, challenges, and friendships. You will leave camp with an unforgettable experience and basic knowledge of multiple adventure sports. **We also have two special camps within Adventure 101 called Golden Eagles that specialize in campers 8-12 yrs of age.**
Climbing Camp: This camp stretches students of all experience levels, from students simply interested in doing something new to those who want to sharpen their climbing skills. Campers will learn common knots and belay techniques. New to Summer 2007 are more beginner sport routes, enabling climbers to learn sport climbing in a safe and supervised environment. If ready, at the end of the week campers may be given a chance to mock lead a sport climb.
Mountain Biking Camp: Our most established adventure camp is back for another season. New to Summer 2007 will be more trails of all difficulties, 4Cross course, free ride lines, and North Shore style ladder bridges. There will be more skills workshops, demonstrations on bike repair, and exhibitions by experienced riders.
Intro to Multisport: If you desire to push your limits, come to this two week camp designed to familiarize you with the many aspects of multisport racing. Covering orienteering, mountain biking, swimming, kayaking, running, climbing, and nutrition, this camp is quite a challenge! Campers will stay in the rustic multisport cabins and the camp will culminate with an adventure race that utilizes all learned skills of the week. This program is intense. Pre-requisites to registration include: 12 yrs old. Run 2 miles without walking, Swim 200 meters in open water. Bike 10 miles on road. Experience on mountain bike trails.
* The June 10-16 week is the Texas Mountain Bike Race Association (TMBRA) Invitational camp. Riders must be active or have been active in TMBRA to receive an invite to this week.
** Golden Eagle weeks specializing in campers 8-12 yrs of age.
