Advanced Robotics - Morgen Academy
Description: This is a five-day fun and creative learning experience for kids to attend during the summer. Kids work in teams to build and program robots using LEGO NXT building kits and LEGO Mindstorm NXT Software, an icon-oriented programming environment. Lessons and activities include imaginative challenges to be explored and solved with robots that can use sensors to perform tasks such as avoiding obstacles, following a track, or moving objects. In addition to having fun, participants learn to think creatively and logically, develop mechanical engineering skills, design software and develop teamwork skills. Most work is done in teams of two students. To enroll in “Advanced Robotics”, student must have prior experience with LEGO NXT kits and software and approval of instructor.

Robotics, Game Creation, Movie Making - Summer Camps
Description: Camps fill up quick so register now! Our Sixth Summer of Digital Fun! Join us for our sixth summer of awarding-winning digital fun. This summer, we are offering morning and afternoon week-long programs in robotics engineering, stop-motion animated movie making, computer video game creation, & 3D game design. Kids have a blast while learning skills that will help them in school and beyond. Choose a morning and afternoon class for a full day of supervised summer camp fun. Each child is provided with their own computer to work on during class. Students receive both individual and group instruction from our well qualified staff. We have small classes and at least an 8 to 1 student to teacher ratio. Not all classes are offered at all locations. This year's classes are (click on a class for a description): Exploring Bits, Bytes & Bots Roaring into Robots: What's NeXT ALL NEW Advanced Robot Challenges ALL NEW Game Creation Advanced GameMaker Techniques 3D Game Design ALL NEW Brick Films Bits, Bytes & Beyond HOURS: Morning classes meet 8:30am-Noon; Afternoon classes meet 1pm-4:30pm Ages: Most classes are for kids ages 8 to 14 (children must turn 8 by August 31, 2007). Bits, Bytes & Beyond is for 6-7 year olds. 3D game creation is for students who have completed the 6th grade and are younger than 16. Prices: $319 per class Austin: $285 per class if registered prior to April 1, 2007 5% discount for multiple classes Reservations require a $150 non-refundable deposit before May 21, with balance due on May 21.
